A Brief Overview of AUP Academy

Adventist University of the Philippines Academy (AUPA) is a private Christian institution owned and operated by a Christian non-profit organization. It was founded in 1917 and recognized by the government in 1933. It is open to youth who are in harmony with Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) ideals.

AUPA is accredited by the Adventist Accrediting Association (AAA), Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) through the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities Accrediting Agency Inc. (ACSCU-AAI) with Level III Accreditation Status until December 2022 and Certified by the Education Services Contracting (ESC) of the Department of Education.



The work of education and the work of redemption are one, to restore in humanity the lost image of God through the harmonious development of the mental, physical, social, and spiritual faculties.


The AUP Academy is committed to provide quality Bible-based secondary education nurturing students for academic excellence, Christian character, and exemplary service. 


To be a leading secondary Adventist educational institution in the country by 2022.

Ardelma V. Sarmiento, LPT, MA, PhD in progress

Graduated at Philippine Union College (now Adventist University of the Philippines) with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy of Religion in 1989.

Served at South-Central Luzon Conference and the Illinois Conference of Seventh-day Adventist as Teacher and Asst. Principal.

Certified Administrator, Licensed Professional Teacher and Credentialed Missionary Teacher.

Finished Master of Arts in Teaching at Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI., USA.

AUP Academy Principal since 2013.
